It has been constructed in 1980 in order to designate the following 12 miles border at sea of land border of Turkey-Georgia. After the joint works of Turkey and Soviet authorities two leading lights have been established in order to designate this border. Back leading-light has been built in the mainland Georgia and front leading-light has been built in the mainland Turkey.
He has been constructed with iron and his height is 27 meters. In front of the tower there is a wooden panel of 6x 20m size which has an orange color band in the middle part of that in order to be seen by vessels .The light of the lighthouse is seen from different color and degree as we call it as a sector.
It has been constructed 33.5 meters above the sea level. The visual sight distance of the lighthouse, in which has the flashing character of .Fl. W.R.G 1 sec with red sector, is 14 nautical miles.
It illuminates as (white) for Turkey side, (Red) for approaching to the border, (white) for the border line and (white), (green) for the Georgia side.
Due to importance of service provided by this lighthouse of us, it is powered by acetylene gas as auxiliary basis. It automatically turns on and off with respect to the daylight.
